IKSDP

This was the first of its kind to be created and it is located in Nyandiwa IKSDP main project. It is under the management of a qualified medical personnel. The Italians at some time assist by giving free medicines and other items to the dispensary.

Currently the dispensary is expanded and can accomodate two in - patients at a time. The doctor himself is specialised in the treatment of several diseases including dysentry, cholera, typhoid, malaria and as at now does the circumcision to men at a cheaper cost and successfully.

After seeing the success of the Nyandiwa dispensary, more comunities around the Gwassi region approached the project management for the need of the same amenities. The management together with the Brownsea Foundation agreed to build them a larger dispensary as compared to the one in Nyandiwa.

The dispensary as at the beginning was under the management of the project for a period of three years. The project would provide the drugs, the clinical officers and all the infrastructures needed. As at now the project gave it to the government for the management and all that it may require.

After the success of the two other projects, the community of the Kiwa island also presented their proposals to the project management and it was accepted. A dispensary was built in the island. The project later agreed to manage it for a year and they supplied drugs and even hired a clinical officer.

After the lapse of the two years, the IKSDP handed the Dispensary to the government for management and provision of any kind of materials they might require. Currently the hopsital is doing well and illnesses in the island are becoming a thing of the past.
