Message from the Director Brownsea Foundation |
 After regular and thorough search of a site where we would really alocate ourselves, we finally found a better place in Nyandiwa near the lake shore which was one of our priorities. A group of five scouts from Foundation Brownsea together with the local authorities initiated the buying of the present land that sits the present IKSDP(Italian Kenyan Scout Development Project). It started as a minute structure and was purposely meant for scouting movement within Gwassi Region. The project therefore became in collaboration with the Kenya Scouts Association. Different projects started building up with each volunteer group having different ideas from the gone ones. As at now the project has initiated alot of projects within the region that are mainly meant to assist the comunity at large, among them are: The pipeline water which flows all the way from the Gwasii hills to the lake basin that provide water to over 20,000 people; The social centre that has a capacity of 1,000 seats for any conferencing activity; Good and well managed hospitals within regions; Quality hostels for each and every class of people; The known "MUNYA" irrigation project; The only Teaschers College in Suba District; internet accessibility and many more projects. The Brownsea Foundation is still eager to come up with more projects apart from the current ones that will assist the community at large e.g. reconstruction of the local roads with the assistance from the local government, and many others
